Satellite radio has a number of broadcasting channels that air commercial-free music. They also are not regulated by the FCC, so their show hosts, like Howard Stern, are able to say pretty much whatever they want. However, the number of different channels that are available to listeners continues to be a key factor in subscriptions for both XM and Sirius.

On Sirius radio, music, sports, news, talk, and entertainment categories are all available. Music stations include genres like pop, dance, and hip-hop. They also offer a variety of stations you may not find in every city, like country, Christian, jazz, classical, and international music.

Along the sports line, each major sport has its own dedicated broadcasting. For example, football fans can enjoy NFL radio, while the same goes for NASCAR, NBA, MBL, and others depending on your satellite radio provider. Other sports shows available include college sports, soccer, horse racing, lacrosse, and more.

When you consider satellite radio channels that are related to news programs, you have a wide variety that includes politics, United States news, international news, financial news, public radio, and religion. Some of the more popular networks like NPR, CNN, the BBC, the Weather Channel, and Fox News are available on one or more of the satellite radio channels.

More popular satellite channels include the talk and entertainment programs, which are available uncensored to listeners. As such, radio personalities like Howard Stern, are able to express themselves freely. Additionally, other popular hosts, like Martha Stewart, Barbara Walters, and Oprah can also be found on various channels.

Although there are some satellite channels that are available on both XM and Sirius, there are others that offer exclusive programming. Generally, it is the exclusive programs that are provided through each network that makes a listener choose one over the other. However, there are some listeners that subscribe to both providers so that they can gain access to all available channels.

In the near future, the merger between XM and Sirius will allow listeners to get the best of both networks. While each one uses different equipment and signals to broadcast their information, the merger will most likely create a type of converter, as well as a new system, that will allow listeners easier access to their favorite programs.

Until then, the only option available is to pick on type of satellite radio channels over the other provider or choose to subscribe to both. Most people pick the one that interests them the most, purchase the receiver, and start enjoying their new satellite radio.

Hughes Net Internet access is capable of delivering speeds 50x faster than your tired, old dialup connection. With this satellite Internet deal, you will find that you can easily afford to enjoy high-speed access, fast downloads and all the benefits of modern technology that you demand. Get the speed you need with America's #1 provider!

Spending the better part of 40+ years with a variety of major fashion retailers, I have learned some certain truths. Along with the inevitability of death and taxes is the truth that , in fashion, what had gone around comes around again. The cycle is usually generational. For some reason, every 40 years the essence of the hot fashion of the time is revived and given the title "Retro". It was only natural, that with the upsurge in Vintage Automobile collecting and racing, some of the hot fashion associated with with the era of the 1960's / 1970's would start showing up about now - and also inevitable that there would be a large appeal to a younger, non automotive related audience.

First comes the fabric. Leather jackets have always been cool, but when worn by Marlon Brando and his motorcycle gang, Jimmy Dean in his Porsche 550, Steve McQueen "The King of Cool" in the Great Escape - "cool" had a new meaning. Leather in jackets relating to automobiles, modern and vintage, is back with a vengence. Next comes the style. When I was buying jackets back in the late 60's / early 70's there was one style designed for "cool " drivers and its generic name was the descriptive name of the company - "Style Auto". Literally thousands of dozens of this style in a variety of fabric were made. It's baaaack.

Tony "a2z racer" Adamowicz, working from his original 1970 collection of jackets has produced and is marketing an improved retro Top Grain Leather Jacket that captures the essence of the original. Perfect for both the new and old Porsche, Corvette, BMW, Shelby Mustang GT500, etc. Tony, who just had a podium finish at Infineon Raceway in his 40 year old 1969 F5000 Championship car, said that he will also be designing this Satin Lined, Leather Jacket in other fabrics including Corduroy and Nylon Cire. Tony plans to be styling in his vintage Datsun 240Z. I plan to follow suit in my 65 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce. Niche market to mainstream continues to be the mantra for retro design.

Green Bay Packers - Donald Driver 2007 Upper Deck Collectibles NFL Ford SVT Adrenalin Concept with Card

1. Steelers. 12-4. Another convincing division win and solid playoff performance puts them in the Super Bowl again.

2. Colts. 12-4. Had bad luck in the playoffs, but they are still a league force.

3. Giants. 12-4. Stumbled a bit, but the defense is unbeatable.

4. Titans. 13-3. Had a nice season, and nearly beat the impressive Ravens.

5. Ravens. 11-5. Made a nice run with rookie Joe Flacco but got beaten by the rival Steelers... good season.

6. Panthers. 12-4. Taken by surprise in the playoffs, but had an overall great season.

7. Cardinals. 9-7. Carried by Fitzgerald, they sneak into the playoffs, and then make a solid run to lead Warner to another emotional Super Bowl with the Steelers.

8. Eagles. 9-6-(1). Got cut short by the Cardinals deep passing game, but really showed that they have what it takes.

9. Chargers. 8-8. Little production from LT in the playoffs cut San Diego short yet again in the postseason, but they are a consistently threatening team.

10. Falcons. 11-5. Led by Matt Ryan, Atlanta made a push, but stumbled at a bad time. No one expected the depleted Falcons to have this kind of success.

11. Vikings. 10-6. Choked early in the playoffs, but ended up not having a bad year, taking advantage of the departure of Brett Favre from Green Bay and winning the division.

12. Dolphins. 11-5. Admired for their tremendous bounce-back season, but a little disappointing in the postseason. All in all, not a poor year by any stretch for the previously 1-15 Miami squad.

13. Patriots. 11-5. One of the best non-playoff teams ever. What a bad break for New England to get cut short.

14. Buccaneers. 9-7. Bad losing streak to end the season, but had a solid year prior to that.

15. Cowboys. 9-7. Mid-season crisis leads to a terrible outcome for the Cowboys, seeing as they were popular picks to take home the Lombardi trophy.

16. Saints. 8-8. One of the better divisions in football, and New Orleans ends up in dead last, despite finishing at 500. Oh well, congrats Drew Brees on an almost-historic season.

17. Jets. 9-7. Led by Brett Favre, they had shots at a playoff birth, but didn't have great execution in the clutch.

18. Broncos. 8-8. Missed the playoffs by 1 game, but really not impressive throughout the season. Lots of injuries, which they look to take care of next season.

19. Redskins. 8-8. Adversity with injuries and a new coach, ultimately leading to a letdown season. Lots of room for improvement on offense, but Clinton Portis did a nice job.

20. Bears. 9-7. Up-and-down season for Chicago, but really no excuses for their lack of production. They have absolutely no quarterback.

21. Packers. 6-10. Big choke at the end of the season. Aaron Rodgers may be the future here, look for big things in Green Bay coming up.

22. Bills. 7-9. Another shaky season in Buffalo. Can they ever learn to be consistent?

23. Jaguars. 5-11. A highly talented team that lacks discipline and consistency. Could be a Wild Card threat in the near future.

24. Browns. 4-12. A generous rank, because there is talent here. Browns will surprise next year.

25. Seahawks. 4-12. Unexpectedly bad season. No room for excuses in Seattle.

26. 49ers. 7-9. A low rank for the final record, but the 49ers just are not a good team.

27. Texans. 8-8. Another stingy rank, but they are incapable of winning that division while Peyton Manning remains with Indy. Look down the road a few years for Houston, with possible success later on.

28. Raiders. 5-11. They can't get anything right.

29. Rams. 2-14. Atrocious season. No hope for the Rams next season, but look for a strong rebuilding proccess and come back to St. Louis in a few years.

30. Chiefs. 2-14. One of the NFL's worst teams. No hope for the miserable Chiefs.

31. Bengals. 4-11-(1). Not a bad team, but the hubbub involving Chad Johnson is getting to my head. It's all downhill from here on out for the distracted, frustrated, Cincinnati Bengals.

32. Lions. 0-16. This abysmal record got Detroit a spot in Canton, Ohio. Sorry Lions, but you are pitiful. No hope.

My Super Bowl prediction
Pittsburgh Steelers 32
Arizona Cardinals 19

Next year's teams to watch: (Predicted record)
Saints (11-5, 3rd seed)
Packers (10-6, Wild Card)
Browns (10-6, no playoffs)

Next year's letdowns: (Predicted record)
Panthers (8-8)
Jets (6-10)
Cowboys (8-8)

What a great season it has been. Congratulations to Peyton Manning for his MVP award. Congratulations to all the playoff teams for a well-played season. Good luck to Pittsburgh and Arizona, and congratulations to all the outstanding athletes going to the Pro Bowl. Hope all your teams do well in 09-10. It's been great. Thanks for reading,

The film world was saddened this holiday season with news of the passing of Ann Savage - perhaps the original Femme Fatale. 'Femme Fatale' roughly interpreted, stands for 'Fatal Woman.' Get too close and you lose your good judgment, get whacked or at least seriously embarrassed. Using the universal laws of attraction, the standard methodology includes luring unsuspecting folks to listen to seductive language and in the end, cause some really poor decisions. As college football heads into the annual period of depression known as winter, some programs will be hard at work to rebuild or to at least get dog programs to respectability. Coaching candidates offer seductive language, grand visions and in some instances, cause the hiring institutions to make some really poor decisions.

In the end, schools have to try something radical to turn losers into winners. Witness the University of Buffalo. For years a doormat program, the Bulls actually achieved an unbelievable level of success in 2008 with a bowl appearance. Even though the Bulls lost to UConn in the International Bowl, this is a remarkable turn-around for a program that in the not too distant past, was simply the laughingstock of eastern college football. Congrats then to the Bulls and coach Turner Gill. This is what one would refer to as a "good hire."

Which coaching decisions will turn out to be the poor ones? One never knows for sure, but there are some bizarre story lines already forming on the surface of the 2009 season. Iowa State got really lucky in having its 2-10 coach hired away by - of all people - Auburn. This saved the school from itself when the Cyclone brass offered the former coach a contract extension. Racking up 2008 season wins over South Dakota State and Kent State at the beginning of the season, the Cyclones proceeded to lose everything else. Iowa State then replaced its lost head coach with native Iowan Paul Rhoads. Rhoads brings impressive credentials, a commitment to win in the state of Iowa and comes to the Cyclones from -of all places - Auburn. 2009 will see which school got the best end of this deal. Stay tuned on this one!

The Sage of College Football (your humble author) wishes Coach Steve Sarkisian at Washington the best of luck in 2009. Coach Sark probably read the tea leaves in his former position at USC and determined that his upward upward mobility would be better served by looking for another institution to craft into a winner. But Washington? The Huskies ended this past season winless - the first perfectly dreadful season for a Pac-10 school. If the Huskies turn in a few wins in 2009, coach Sark will really have accomplished something significant. Then look out for the purple dogs in 2012.

The opportunity to turn a loser into a winner will frequently override a coaching candidate's better judgment. The Sage hopes that New New Mexico State Coach DeWayne Walker made a good choice. Walker is the 33rd head coach of the Aggies and has his work cut out for him. The Aggies managed a single conference win last season and probably have the Cornhuskers, Michigan and a variety of other schools trying to get 'em on their home schedules. Should Walker get a couple of wins, New Mexico State's biggest challenge will be keeping him.

Going north from Las Cruces, the University of New Mexico also found itself in need of a new head football coach following the resignation of coach and alum Rocky Long. Never a powerhouse in the Mountain West Conference, New Mexico was in need of a recruiting ace to lure decent players to Albuquerque. Interestingly, the Lobos managed to convince Mike Locksley to give up his position as Offensive Coordinator at Illinois to try and push UNM in the right direction. This will take quite a bit of pushing. However, among Locksley's qualifications is a top 25 recruiting rating from Sports Illustrated. Should Locksley attract better players than have previously taken the field for the Lobos and get some wins in old UNM Stadium, other programs are going to want to know exactly how he did it. They are also going to want to hire him. Both football programs in the state of New Mexico need to make generous contract extension offers should either of their new coaches appear to be getting their respective programs turned around.

Brady Hoke, formerly Head Coach at Ball State, now finds himself in the same position at San Diego State. Admittedly, SDSU could offer things that Ball State couldn't - like a beach and decent weather. Hoke traded in his #12 Ball State Cardinals for one of the worst programs going. If he can turn it around in South California, he will be one of the hottest coaching commodities going. The Aztecs also better have a retention plan in place should Hoke start winning. There isn't a task more daunting than taking over a perennial loser and turning it around - except perhaps for taking over a program that is used to winning and keeping it that way. Witness Lane Kiffen -the new Head Coach of the Tennessee Volunteers and former Head Coach of the NFL's Oakland Raiders. Here is a guy who won't miss church the rest of the year. Getting fired by Al Davis at Oakland is not a disgrace as much as it is a blessing. But then to land in Knoxville? A bowl appearance in 2009 would be the 'hat trick.' There is real pressure in Knoxville, though, and 104,000 fans will be in Neyland Stadium for every home game to apply it.

The annual shuffling of the head coaching ranks has just about ended now for 2009. The motivational speeches are being prepared for the Spring Games heralding a "new way of thinking," "a winning attitude," "putting the past behind us," and "making something special happen." These are all great speeches, and are essentially given to every college level player with the courage to take the field for a losing program. Next September, we will finally see which programs have been lured in with sweet talk of victory and which programs actually deliver. The unfortunate part of hiring coaches is that a good decision is rewarded with having to come up with a big contract extension. A poor decision puts your program right back in the dumper.

New England Patriots - Logo Soft Lunch Box NFL Pro Football

Parents of athletically-gifted children are understandably eager to participate in increasing their children's odds in playing professional sports. Good parents are happy to help their kids flourish in their field where they can use their given talents to benefit others as well as themselves. If their child has a talent for football, for instance, they would like to get up-to-date with college football recruiting news. However, other than that they are usually at a loss on how exactly they can help.

Here are a few things parents can keep in mind as they help their kids during college football recruiting:

First, parents need to understand the capabilities of their children. Some teenagers are able to handle the most of the work involved in hunting for prospective colleges. They like the challenge and need little more than approval and support. Others, however, need more motivation and guidance, so parents need to take a more active role. In order to determine which group their particular child belongs to, parents can observe how the child handles homework. Watching how their son or daughter responds to school assignments can help them determine how involved they need to be in looking for the right scholarship offers during college football recruiting.

Kids and parents alike sometimes don't realize that senior year is just too late in the game to check up on prospective schools with college football recruiting. Gathering information on colleges, their courses, their mission statements, history and other details is important. Setting aside a folder for each school that may come under consideration is a useful way of organizing necessary data. Deadlines for submitting requirements may and do differ from school to school, and parents need to keep track of them.

Information is readily available. The Internet has proven to be a useful venue for students, parents, and even coaches looking for college football recruiting news and other related information. There are many websites and online forums wherein students and scouts can come together and interact. D1Athletes is an online community wherein high school athletes and coaches alike can share and exchange college football recruiting news and information they need. D1Athletes offers them a place to build an online presence and gain important public exposure.

Customer Review: Colts blanket - Gift for Grandson
Indianapolis Colts Fleece NFL Blanket (Shadow Series) by Northwest (50""x60"")This Colts blanket was a gift for my 10 year old Grandson and he absolutely loves it!! It fits nicely on his single bed. It's very soft and warm; Perfect size and weight for a game!!
Customer Review: Very comfy and warm
I got this for my sister-in-law as a gift and so far it's a hit. After she opened the present, she spent the rest of the day walking around with the blanket wrapped around her like a cape. She loves the design and we both agree that it's one of the softest materials we've felt (fleece is always a good move). She's a rabid Colts fan and always has the blanket out on display in the house. It was a great purchase and worked well as a gift, and the price is certainly right.

Professional football is one of the top sports that people are interested in watching. One of the most popular teams among people is the Dallas Cowboys. But you dont have to be from Dallas to love the Cowboys, nor do you have to be from Florida to love the Dolphins, or any other team for that matter. So far the Cowboys have 5 league championships, and 5 super bowl championships under their belt. The Dallas Cowboys originally known as the Dallas Steers and then the Dallas Rangers, finally settled on the name "Cowboys" for the 1960 season. Since the Dallas Cowboys are such a popular team you can bet many people buy Cowboy apparel including but not limited to Jersey's, Hats, Jackets, T-shirts, even house ware items! Some of the most popular items with in those categories however are things like Tony Romo Authentic Jersey's, Dallas Cowboys Throwback Jerseys, Troy Aikman Jerseys, Emmit Smith Jerseys and of course Dallas Cowboy Super Bowl Memorabilia.

Just about anyone can find any of these items for sale online. But where is THE best places to look? Who has the best prices? Lets take the Emmitt Smith Jersey into account on this. If you buy it from the Dallas Cowboy e-store you can expect to pay at least $79.99 for a Legend Jersey. Thats a lot of money! If you buy it from an auction site like eBay you can expect to pay somewhere around $25-$40. Ok that sounds a little better! Some people absolutely will pay any price to buy from a well known store. Other people just want the jersey and dont mind if its from a site like eBay. I could go either way personally. Ive found things on eBay that were $400 in the OFFICIAL store, and on eBay it was selling, brand new, tags still on for $100. Its all about personal preferences, I think.

If you are going to buy things on eBay theres a few things you need to know. Firstly when looking for a jersey or anything else, you have to know where to look and what to look for. If your looking for a jersey by a certain team player, your best bet is to start your search with that. Example, you want a Troy Aikman hat and you dont know where to look on eBay. When you search for hats, 5million results come up. So instead search for Troy Aikman hat(s). This will most likely bring up hats involving Troy Aikman. Or just search for Troy Aikman and then you can narrow your results on the sidebar menu (left hand side). Pay attention to the "product description" when your looking at items to potentially buy. Check out some of the acronyms. Theres a lot but Ill list some of the ones that have to do with the quality or newness of the item.

BNWL- Brand new with label
COA- Certificate of Authenticity
HTF- Hard To Find
LE-Limited Edition
LN - LIKE NEW
MIB- Mint in Box
NB- Name Brand
NWOT- New without Tags
NWT- New with Tags

Some of these acronyms can save you a lot of time and heart ache! Make sure you ask questions to the seller before buying. And also make sure you read any and all of the print the seller has included on the page. Theres also other things you can buy on eBay that are going to be cheaper, besides apparel. Things like Dallas Cowboy house ware items, memorabilia like souvenirs, old ticket stubs, autographs, cards etc. Say your looking for an autograph by Tony Romo. On a retail site it would cost $299-$349 just for a photo frame! And with sites like eBay a mere $125 for an authentic signed photo. Thats a pretty penny right there. If you can save some money and still get a quality product, why wouldn't you? Another great thing about auction sites is a lot of people on there have stores, so they sell this stuff for a living. And all their products are authentic and BRAND NEW just like if you would buy it in a certain retail store. The next time your searching for some really great Dallas Cowboy gear, why not have a look and see for yourself. I can bet that 9 out of 10 times the auction site will have better prices, matched quality, and even greater availability!

I always did like those mini helmets that they made in the early 90,s.They were even better a few years later when they started putting quarterback facemasks on them...later

The launch of the 2007 Dallas Cowboys Football season is just days away. NFL fans everywhere are gearing up for the action and hoping for a stellar season for their teamnone more so than Dallas Cowboys fans.

After a rough end to the 2006 season which saw the Cowboys lose a heart breaker to the Seattle Seahawks in the last minute of the first round of the play-offs, following a botched field goal hold by quarterback Tony Romo, fans are looking for a brighter, uneventful year ahead. The end of the 2006 season also marked the end for Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells.

As the new season of football begins the Dallas Cowboys will take to the field with a quarterback, who has something to prove, and with a new head coach at the helm. On February 8, 2007, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced that Wade Phillips would be taking over as the Dallas Cowboys head coach.

A native of Texas, Phillips attended the University of Houston where he spent three years as a starter at linebacker. His coaching career began with the Houston Oilers where he held the position of defensive line coach under head coach O.A. Bum Phillips, his father. The father and son coaching duo then moved on to the New Orleans Saints where Bum Phillips stepped down in 1985 as coach of the struggling team. Wade Phillips was named interim coach. From there Wade Phillips moved to defensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles, followed by the Denver Broncos.

In 1993 Phillips replaced out going Coach Dan Reeves as head coach of the Broncos. By the 1995 season he had moved on to coach the Buffalo Bills, his most successful coaching stint to date, followed by the Atlanta Falcons. For the past three seasons Phillips has held the position of defensive coordinator with the San Diego Chargers. His move to the position of Dallas Cowboys head coach comes at a time when he is considered one of the best defensive minds in football. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is said to have interviewed 10 potential head coaches before determining that Phillips was the man to lead his team.

There is a sense of optimism as teams get ready to begin their season and the road to Super Bowl XLII - fans all across the NFL are hopeful that this could be the year for their team. The season ahead for the Dallas Cowboys is bright. When the team kicks off against the NY Giants on September 9, theres little doubt that all eyes will be on Tony Romo and the new man at the helm, Wade Phillips.

Trick Shift Play Backfires in Big Time College Football

Many youth football coaches are "football junkies". We like watching pro or college football. Sometimes we even see things that we think we can use for our own youth football teams. Often times this is how youth coaches come up with trick plays.

College Bowl Game SNAFU

One trick play used in this Bowl season was during the Sugar Bowl, Alabama versus Utah. Utah faced a 4th Down and short near midfield.

Utah decided to "go" for it with a play that is designed to draw the defense off-sides. This was a pretty safe and savy strategy, you are either going to get 5 free yards and a first down or you are going to take a delay of game penalty and punt on 4th down. Punting from the 45 instead of the 50 even gives your punter more room to pin Bama deep inside it's 20 yard line. No matter how the play turned out, the Utes will have improved thier situation.

I'm not sure why more teams don't try this very safe tactic which often yields teams a free first down with zero risk, even at the college level. Utah started out with it's offensive linemen in very wide splits and in two-point stances and Quarterback under center. After the players had been set for at least a second, Utah then moved in unison, with the offensive linemen moving inward together to narrow the splits and the Quarterback backpedalling to a shotgun formation.

The Ruling

While the play did result in Bama jumping off-sides, the Utes were called for a 5 yard penalty for "illegally simulating the start of the play" a 5 yard penalty. The officials got it right on this one. While you can try to get teams to jump off-sides via varying cadence, players can not shift quickly in such a manner that simulates the start of a play.

We use a very legal "no play" in these situations with great success. We usually run it 2-5 times a game to get teams to jump at significant times during a game, when we want to call timeout or even when we just want teams to stop jumping or anticipating our snap count. Our success rate of getting teams to jump offsides over the last 11 seasons has always been between 70%-90%. It is a great but under used strategy in youth football.

The rule invoked in the Utah-Alabama game is why many teams that shift, do so slowly and deliberately. That is why teams that run Jet Sweep type motion plays often have their motion man take a slow deliberate drop step before he starts his full speed motion towards the quarterback.

Here is a clip of the Utah-Alabama play in action: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KB5yNZVYV3U

What Does This Mean for Youth Football Teams?

The moral of the story is, this is a great strategy and a perfect situation to run a play like this, however it was just poor play designing on the part of Utah. This coach should have known better. Now you know better, don't make the same mistake Utah did. Of course let's give Utah a break over the "body of work", they played a very brilliant and inspired game.

Philadelphia Eagles NFL Cinch Bag

Perfect for school books, shoes, practice clothes

The NFL screens high-profile college athletes for speed, quickness, agility, mental aptitude, and other important traits relative to their positions. The NFL Combine with its statistical history for vertical jumps, 40 yard dash, bench press, aptitude tests, and interviews greatly increases the chances for excellent player selection. And, these are just a few of their screening tools. With a multi-million dollar investment on the line, owners make sure that due diligence occurs in the screening for new NFL players.

In great sales teams, the same situation exists. Each new recruit represents thousands and perhaps millions of dollars in corporate revenue. And, one recruit impacts morale, production, and the retention of other salespeople and fellow employees.

The sobering thought ... coaches know that ultimately the best players get the job done on the playing field ... and, they help them keep their jobs.

For these fiscal reasons, great sales managers take their candidates through some initial examination steps (Stage One: Screening). They screen by resume, by phone, by email, and perhaps face-to-face for 3-6 personality and character traits. The typical traits they screen for include: goal-orientation, social drive (for prospecting), social confidence (for prospecting, asking hard questions, presenting), and important character attributes: honesty, hard work ethic, and personal responsibility. This keeps them from spending additional recruiting dollars and interviewing time on candidates who cannot pass initial screening.

Problem ... Resume reviews and reference checking alone are worth less than 4% in making good hiring decision.

After screening candidates, some candidates make it to Stage Two: Profiling. In this stage, validated profiles are used to screen for the critical personality traits which contribute to doing important sales tasks - sales competencies. Also, just as in the NFL, mental aptitude is measured as well. How fast will they learn product information, paperwork requirements, marketing information, etc. for ramp up to minimum production. Scientifically validated profiles, especially ones with built in lie detectors, help isolate the traits. They are worth, in predictive measurement, between 20-50% in making a good hiring decision.

THREE PROBLEMS WITH PROFILES ...

Problem #1: Many profiles are not validated.

Problem #2: Many profiles are hard to understand and very general in their reported measurements. While true, they are hard to use. Accurate information is presented in a difficult and hard to apply format.

Problem #3: Sales managers have very little practical experience with profiles, or have had a negative experience with them. They are not comfortable with how to use them.

The recruiting funnel, at its finish, narrows into the final stage - Stage 3: Interviewing. This stage may provide at least 16% of the information necessary to make a good hiring decision - if structured interviews are used (structured toward the sales position's competencies, personality traits, attitudes and beliefs). It is also the stage in which we get the participation of other team members in separate discussions and interviews.

INTERVIEW PROBLEM ...

Problem: Most sales managers do interviews that are not structured to screen for the 3-6 critical traits. They also do not ask the same questions to every candidate and then score out their responses. An unstructured interview is worth less than 4% toward making a good hiring decision - some experts say less than 2%.

..................................................................................................................

An outstanding RECRUITING SYSTEM finds great salespeople ...

Use multiple sources for an adequate flow of candidates. Recruit with a three stage funnel in the order outlined above: Screening, Profiling, Interviewing, and do so with a sharp focus on critical competencies, traits, attitudes and beliefs.

As you become more proficient with the process, and its tools and skills, your selection will improve. Just like the NFL, you will use proven selection methods to separate the best from the rest - to find salespeople suited for the challenges they will face.

To impact ramp up time, first year production, and retention, recruit the best. Learn the skills. Use the tools. Follow the process.

What's next? After hiring, the ramp up period and coaching process become important. And, that's a message for another time. For now, Recruit the Best ... and later we'll discuss Coaching the Best. Do Great. Lance.

Tennis shoes provide the much needed support and protection to the feet of players and as such the performance of the players is greatly affected by the quality of footwear they are wearing. Keeping with this, the tennis shoes are designed with a view to provide maximum comfort to the players. Tennis shoes are made with reinforced toe and heel pads as these areas are most prone to wear and tear during their use in the ground.

Selection of the right tennis shoes is a very important consideration for a tennis player. The criterion of selection depends upon various things such as the type of feet of the player, the kind of surface on which he is going to play, proper fit of the shoes and so on.

Some people`s feet are prone to blisters and they must wear proper fitting shoes with thick cushions. A tennis shoe which fits properly across the width of the shoe is best for players. If the body built is stronger and big then they must opt for heavier type of shoes. Players who want enhanced foot spread and agility however prefers very light weight tennis shoes.

While playing on hard court surfaces, it is recommended to use durable and resistant to wear tennis shoes as hard courts are bound to damage the tread of the sole of the tennis shoes. This makes the shoes to slip and loss in traction. On hard surfaces the shoes need to provide extra protection to the toes as they are bound to dragging while playing and the hard court may injure the toes.

One who plays on soft courts, durability is not of much consideration for them. A good traction and comfort are of utmost importance for players who play on clay courts. A flat and smooth sole is preferred for playing on soft courts. One must also see that there are no knobs and bumps on the soles of tennis shoes as they are bound to damage the soft tennis courts.

Although tennis shoes are available in different shapes and styles, a player can also opt for custom made shoes in case he is not satisfied with the fit and comfort of the ready made shoes. The custom made shoes can be designed in specifications with the requirements of the player and are little more expensive tan the normal ones.

There are a lot of top brands of tennis shoes which include Adidas, Nike, Reebok, Puma, Converse, Lacoste, Brooks, K- Swiss, British Knights etc. While selecting from amongst the popular brands is not an easy task, people must keep in mind that the comfort and fit of the tennis shoe is more important than the brand name.

Some lower end manufacturers` try to attract customers by offering stylish and attractive pair of shoes at low price, a player must select shoes from the well known and top notch manufacturer to avoid any chances of getting cheated. One must not go for the looks and name of the shoe but rather wears them and check their comfort level before buying them. One must not be guided by he stylish look but know he art of selecting a quality pair.

It should be kept in mind that the style and color of the shoe is not going to affect your performance; rather it is the quality and comfort of the shoe which can affect your performance. So, one must see that selecting the right type of tennis shoes is of utmost importance and one must find the time to find the right tennis shoes so as to play in style and give a better performance.

Buying tickets from an online ticket broker is the easiest way to get sold out tickets to NFL football games.

However, you must be careful because they can also be the most expensive, though that is not always the case. Sometimes you can find tickets for less than face value by buying at the right time. More on that later. The reason that purchasing from a Ticket Broker is the easiest way to get tickets is that you can buy them from the convenience of your home online without any haggling involved, unless you are purchasing from an auction.

The broker simply sets the price that they wish to sell their tickets. Then you purchase them at that agreed price and pay the fees and shipping charges to have the tickets sent to your address.

One thing to keep in mind when buying from a ticket broker is the total price of the tickets, including shipping and fees. Brokers typically have fees that can range from 10% to in excess of 20% of the ticket price!

They also may require expedited shipping, instead of regular first class mail. This is often the case to make sure that you receive your tickets in time for the event and because insurance is usually automatically included with the expedited shipping. If possible you do not want them to have them overnight the tickets or send them by some other type of expensive delivery since that is going to add to your bottom line. And we like our bottom line to be ...

Low as possible!

So when exactly is the best time to purchase tickets from a Ticket Broker to get the best price?

I really need your attention now. I need you to make sure that you take heed to this advice! This advice alone could save you hundreds of dollars on tickets!

It is usually best to purchase the tickets after the season starts. And not just after the season starts but closer to game time. I am talking like a week or so before the game! Huh? I thought you got the best deals by buying tickets far in advance? Yeah, that is what most people think. That is what I also used to think until I started searching for tickets, myself.

You can usually get a better deal by waiting later rather than purchasing far in advance. However, you do not want to wait too late because then you will have to pay more in next day or 2 day shipping to get the tickets on time. So you have to find the balance between purchasing tickets close to game day and far enough in advance to get the tickets without paying next day or Saturday shipping charges.

So a good time frame would be about 4-6 days in advance or between Monday and Wednesday before a game that is played on Sunday.

So where are these ticket brokers that I keep speaking about? Well if you do a search online for "Packers Tickets" or tickets for whoever your team is you will find that hundreds of thousands of sites come up.

Well I will make it a little easier for you. I have included the best online NFL Ticket Brokers here. This is one of the ways to get sold out tickets to NFL games. It is very convenient and you can get discount tickets if you follow the instructions in this article.

Seth Taylor is the author of the NFL Ticket Guide, an e-book that provides NFL fans with tricks and techniques to obtain discount NFL tickets.

He is offering for a limited time a FREE report that reveals multiple ways to get discount NFL Tickets.

Newborns New York Giants Long-Sleeve Bodysuit 2-pk.

Luiz Felipe Scolari's reign at Stamford Bridge has come to abrupt end. Scolari enjoyed the full confidence and support of the management, players and fans of the London club, but recent events has proved that the big man has not been able to fit into the big shoes left by the 'Special One' Mourinho; who transformed the London club into a silverware winning side. He is currently making waves in the Italian series 'A' league with Inter-Milan FC.

Scolari came with a lot of confidence and hope promising to return the club to winning ways after the sack of Mourinho's successor; Avram Grant. This however has not been the case since Scolari took over at Stamford Bridge; he has shown his lack of 'experience' in club football management. His string of losses and scandalous draws most especially at home ground has broken the hearts of millions of fans world wide who week in week out throng out to support their darling Chelsea Football club.

During his short spell as head coach of Chelsea FC, the once dreaded London club became so vulnerable that the weakest of teams could now hold their own again Chelsea. The string of losses and scandalous draws at Stamford Bridge; the home of Chelsea football club did not help matters either.

In the current season, Chelsea has become the weeping team of the other clubs that make up the legendary 'Big 4' recently losing scandalously to Liverpool, Arsenal and the 'almighty' Manchester United.

Scolari possesses an intimidating international record; having achieved the highest glory achievable by any football coach, by winning the world cup with his native Brazil in 2002. He also did very well as head coach of Portugal, turning them into a world power in international football.

The lesson for Luiz Felipe Scolari however is that success at the world scene or country level does not automatically translate totally to success at club level; where the stars are groomed and nurtured. The world scene is just an avenue to showcase the stars that has been made at the club level. The club challenges are however more enormous, tasking and challenging as you have to deal with day to day training, discipline and welfare of your players and crew. At club level a lot of matches are played sometimes twice in a week, strategies are mapped out and reviewed with every match and you do not have the luxury of time to experiment as it is the case at country level.

Scolari lost his job after about 7 months in charge in which period he played a total of 25 premier league games as head coach of the Blues. He has only won 4 premier league matches in the last 12 matches. This is the first time Chelsea has not been able to collect 50 points from their first 25 games since Roman Abrahimovich acquired the London club. Their main 'Achilles heel' however has been their inability to garner enough points at home and their loss of their invincibility at home, losing their once taunted 'unbeaten run' at their home ground to Liverpool football club.

Among the top 5 premiership clubs, Chelsea has dropped the most points at home having dropped a total of 16 points at home. Chelsea is no longer dreaded and if things were allowed to continue the way it was going they could stand the risk of not qualifying for the 2009/2010 Champions' league, and at worst not even winning any trophies or silverware for this current season.

The life of a football coach comprises of two major events; HIRE and FIRE. When you do well, you stay when you fail to deliver; you are shown the way out. Scolari is a great coach, but I believe he still has a lot to learn about football at club level. That goes to buttress the saying that "there is no end to learning" and in the world of NOKIA, is this beautiful thought provoking phrase "No One Knows It All".

I wish Luiz Felipe Scolari the best in his future endeavors.

Collecting sports memorabilia is a favorite hobby of many Americans especially for football enthusiasts. Some people even spend hundred of dollars for a particular item either for their personal collection or as a form of investment for the future. Nowadays, game-used memorabilia are more popular than ordinary non-used gears that are sold in the market. For instance, signed and unused Riddell NFL helmets can be valued at approximately $250 while a Peyton Manning game-used helmet can conceivably go well for over $1000.

Game-used balls, jerseys or helmets are all in rage in the collector's world. These items can range from anything that is involved in the game and can also be auctioned on the net for a higher price. Although collecting sport collectibles are a good investment, there are still some guidelines you need to know before actually deciding to buy a game-used memorabilia which is right for your collection. Here are some tips you need to consider:

You must first determine if the player that is associated with the collectible is a good or bad investment. Memorabilia from a football legend like Joe Montana is definitely a safe investment. It will surely yield great returns in the future and will be considered a rare collectible. On the other hand, a used knee pad from a young player from the Dallas Cowboys might be a desirable commodity for a young enthusiast but not to a smart investor.

Game-used collectibles also increase in worth if they were used in events such as Super Bowl or an All-star game. Such items along with other collectibles from football Hall of Famers will truly increase its value as time goes by.

Because of the popularity of game-used items in the market, sports card companies have included fragments of game-used memorabilia as part of their insert sets. Special edition trading cards will most likely increase its value if it has special game-used inserts on them.

Fraud is a very big predicament in this industry. Therefore you have to be careful and meticulous enough to purchase items from a reputable company or dealer. Always ask for a Certificate of Authenticity to ensure that you are buying an original item. Remember that game-used collectibles should not look untouched or brand new. In this way, you can protect yourself from being scammed.

Original game-used memorabilia is a special addition to any sports collection. An authentically signed full size game-used Joe Montana helmet will definitely be the highlight of your Riddell NFL helmets collection. This collection will not only guarantee a good investment but also a wonderful sight you can show off to your family and friends. Always remember to use these tips and make wise choices so you will be able to attain the best position to make a smart investment for your future.

Coach John Rockwell is a huge football fan. He has written many articles related to Riddell NFL Helmets. Other articles Coach John has written are related to sports equipment and collectibles such as College Helmets. Coach John resides in Texas with this wife and three children.

When you talk about USC vs. Arizona State history in football, you usually think of the USC - Arizona State football programs as having nothing in common. USC is dominant and has 11 national football championships to it's name. Arizona State sadly enough for them have no college football championships. Arizona State football history pales in comparison to the amount of USC football national championships.

Recent history has showed USC cannot take any PAC-10 team lightly, however. Despite having a record of 58-9-4 going into their game with Oregon State in the 2008 season, they lost 27-21. Oregon State has now beaten USC three out of the last five times at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, and the last two straight. USC probably would prefer to never play there again.

As for Arizona State, however, they have a 9-15 record against USC. They did beat USC the first time they played in the conference back in 1978 so they are probably hoping for more of the same this weekend. I do not think it will happen. Last year ASU had a higher ranking than USC in this matchup and still took a thumping. While the Trojans took a tough loss at Oregon State, they have now bounced back from that and Mark Sanchez is looking good at quarterback, although he may miss out this weekend due to injury. The Sun Devils gave up three touchdown passes last week, their offense is even worse and they are on a three-game losing streak. They will probably put up a fight like any PAC-10 team does against the USC football juggernauts, but they will not do enough to win. The key will be the USC defense shutting their stumbling offense down.

So, my USC football preview for this week is a convincing win, but not a thumping. The past in USC vs. Arizona State history shows that ASU actually has one of the best records in their college football encounters. However, I believe USC are not putting their guard down enough right now. Wait for later in the season for that. Even without Mark Sanchez, they are at home and their defense will take it to their opponents.

You can watch the matchup on Saturday, October 11 at 3:30 p.m. EST. It will be shown on ABC and ESPN360.com.

Peter Mathis is a sports fan, including college football. He invites you to check out his blog and see how you can watch even more USC, Arizona State or your other favorite teams' games by getting ESPN GamePlan on DirecTV or Dish Network. Reebok Men's NFL Dolphins Field Pass Helmet Sneaker

Got team pride? Let it show when you wear this eye-catching sneaker from Reebok. Team colors and logos decorate its leather upper so you can show the world whose side you're on.

During the pre-game activities and when the post-game festivities are just starting, nothing stirs up interest like a good sports trivia question, and money exchanging hands over who has the right answer. Here are some great trivia questions about the AP Top 25 Poll that featured the 2008 college football season.

Besides myself, only a detail person and a statistics fanatic who would painstakingly chart the entire 15-week season could figure out the correct answers to all of these questions.

A sports nut with a good memory could pay for a lot of pizza and beer with the correct answers to the following questions:

1) Among the 25 teams ranked in the 1st week of the AP Top 25 Poll, only 12 would be ranked in the Poll all 15 weeks. Their rank in the final 15th week poll precedes their name. Who are they? (Answer: #1 Florida, #2 Oklahoma, #3 Texas, #4 Alabama, #5 USC (Southern California), #6 Penn State, #7 Utah, #8 Texas Tech, #10 Ohio State, #16 Georgia, #17 BYU (Brigham Young) and #25 Missouri.)

2) Among the dozen teams that were ranked every week, which team rose highest in the Poll during the 15-week period? (Answer: Utah started at #22 and finished at #7.)

3) Which team fell the most during the 15-week season? (Missouri started at #6 and fell to #25 and almost out of the Poll.)

4) Because of parity among this year's 119 Division 1-A teams (also known as the FBS-Football Bowl Subdivison), how many teams made the Poll during the season? (49 teams, or 41%, spent at least one week in the Poll).

5) Every season has some one-week wonders, a team that finally gets ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll and then is gone the very next week, never to return during the rest of the season. How many one-week wonders were there in the 2008 season? (Three-Connecticut, Miami (FL), and UCLA).

6) Many teams are late bloomers who make the Poll at some point and then stay in the Top 25 for the rest of the season. How many teams were late bloomers in 2008?

(Seven-Ball State, Boise State, Cincinnati, Mississippi, Northwestern, Oklahoma State and Oregon State.)

7) Among the late bloomers, which of the 7 spent the most weeks in the Poll? (Boise State, 12 weeks.)

8) Every year some teams have scrappers who come into the Poll, fall out of the Poll and then fight their way back in again. How many teams had scrappers in 2008? (14 teams-Boston College, California, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina, Oregon, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, TCU (Texas Christian), Tulsa, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.)

9) Among the teams that had scrappers, which team fought its way back into the Poll the most times? (Oregon, 3 times.)

The color blue on the sweatband is not 'colts blue.' Also, I ordered this product on the 10th of December, and it did not arrive until the 30th. These had been ordered as a xmas gift. I would not use this company again.

The National Football League has officially taken over as the most popular sport in the United States. It is even becoming more and more popular in other countries. For the past few seasons, the NFL has sent teams to play a preseason game and a regular season game overseas. This year, the NFL sent the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants to play in Wembly Stadium in London, England. The game garnered a ton of attention and fans flocked to the famous stadium to watch our form of football.

With more people watching the sport than ever before, it is not shocking that more people are betting on its games than ever before. In order to be successful, you must make sure you are avoiding the most common sports betting mistake. This mistake is failing to bet objectively. This error most commonly arises when fans are betting on games that their favorite team is competing in.

Betting on games that your favorite team is apart of can be a great way to make money. You have intimate knowledge of this team and if you can bet objectively, you will be able to use this knowledge to your advantage. In order to test your ability to bet objectively, you must bet against your favorite team whenever you think that they will lose. Most people are unable to do this as they feel they are rooting against their favorite team. If you can not place these bets, you should avoid betting on your favorite team's games entirely.

If you are able to bet against your favorite team, you have proven to yourself that you can bet objectively. You should continue betting both for and against this team whenever you feel confident. This is going to help you win bets and make a lot of money.

Victor uses the Sports Betting Champ betting system to win all his bets. It helps people win 97% of their bets. I have won 54 of 56 bets using the system in less than a year of betting. Everyday you are not using this system, you are losing money. Learn more about the Sports Betting Champ

The first progressive slot by Microgaming was Cash Splash which was created in 1998, exactly 4 years after the company was established. It is still a popular progressive slot that is enjoyed by gambling enthusiasts. Video Slots, Classic Slots, and Progressive Jackpot Slots are three common slots offered by Microgaming online casinos. Video slots are different from the traditional slots because it has additional pay lines. The normal slots have fewer pay lines where as the video slots can have up to 50 play lines. Although one has to spend more when playing video slots, his chances of winning is higher because there are more play lines offered for him to play at.

MicroGaming Progressive Jackpot Slots are much sought after by players because of the huge payout it gives if one wins. The jackpot can be worth millions because each time a player plays the slots, a small percentage of his wager is collected into the progressive jackpot slots and the amount keeps building up as more and more players play. Winning the jackpot can takes months or sometimes years. But whoever wins will come into a lot of money in the range of millions. Major Millions is a popular MicroGaming progressive jackpot slot. There are two types of Major Millions slot games and a player has to open a Real Player account to enjoy playing these slots. The jackpot starts at $250,000.

Major Millions 3 reel, 3 pay-line, and 3 coin slot machine. A player has to wager 3 coins in this type of slot. If he wins, a player will receive 15 coins for the 3 coins he wagered. Major Millions 5 reel, 15 pay-line and 15 coin video slot machine This type of slot is more advanced than the 3 reel, 3 pay-lines and 3 coin slot machines. A player has to wager 15 coins in each play. Major Millions 5 reel, 15 pay-lines and 15 coin video slot machine can only be played at casinos that use the Microgaming Viper software. The Major Millions logo is known as the wild symbol. A player can use the wild symbol as a combination with the other symbols in the slot to increase his chances of winning.

Microgaming jackpots are popular because of the huge jackpots it offers its players. Whenever someone wins the jackpot, the amount always resets back to $250,000 which is another reason that players find this type of slots worth playing at. Microgaming casinos also offer its players a safe and secure environment for playing and safeguards their personal information from third parties which is another reason why people tend to play at these casinos irrespective of whether it is the slots, card games or roulette games they choose to play.

As a corner back you are lined up with the receivers and need to cover the receiver while trying to read the offensive play. It is important that you be able to read the drops a quarterback uses, to know what direction the play is going. If it is a three-step drop that means shorter routes, faster plays and you need to react faster. This article will discuss how to cover the receiver and read the three-step drop.

As a corner back you line up across from the receiver but your eyes are in the quarterback while you watch the receiver with your peripheral vision.

When the ball is snapped you want to back peddle keeping the receiver in front of you while you are watching the quarterback. If he takes a three-step drop you want to shorten your steps, so you can react to the receiver and the ball.

The three-step drop means shorter faster developing plays. The pass will usually be a quick hitter timing route.

As you back peddle and you read the three-step drop, shorten your steps so you can better cover the receiver pivoting in what direction he goes.

Usually the receiver will break to his inside allowing you to cheat up on the route. Keep your eyes on the quarterback as you break in and the receiver in your peripheral vision, allowing you to read the quarterbacks eyes and possibly break ion the ball for a pick.

In conclusion reading the quarterback for a three-step drop is easy, keep your eyes on the quarterback, and the receiver in you peripheral vision, using short back peddling steps so that you can cover the receiver no matter which way he breaks and have a shot at breaking up the pass or getting the interception, reading the three-step drop.

Reebok NFL Smash Football Gloves

Customer Review: Looked good - initially
My son wore these gloves for exactly one football game and they are ruined. His thumb broke through at the end of the first quarter and his fingers poked through by the fourth. Never again will I buy a Reebok glove.

Your collection of various football memorabilia maybe one of your most prized possession. Therefore, it is very important that you take care of it the right way. There are many factors that can contribute to its damage such as exposure to heat, smoke and excessive handling. As a collector, it is your responsibility to ensure your collectibles are protected because its value is dependent on how properly it is taken cared of. Here are some collecting tips you can use to better protect your valuable collection:

Once you have purchased an item such as NFL Proline helmets, throwback jerseys and football cards, try to keep all these items in their original packaging to maintain its optimum value. If you can't keep them in their original packages, it is a good idea to keep the boxes and all its contents for later resale.

It is essential to store all these items in a controlled temperature to avoid exposure to moisture that can cause damage such as easy fading. The temperature should not be above 80 degrees and below 50 degrees because this is potentially hazardous to the item.

You should always handle these items with special precaution. It is advised to wash hands with oil free soap before touching any piece. You can opt to use cotton gloves especially for collectibles that have sensitive absorbing materials such as paper and cloth.

Store your collectibles in a way that they will not come in contact with another piece. Spaces between display areas should be considered and it is also a good idea to keep a non acidic cardboard between them. Never stack collectibles on top of one another.

Place these valued collectibles in a dust free container if possible. Special plastic containers are best for many collectible items and are used for long term collecting.

If you plan to display one particular piece such as a signed football or an NFL proline helmet, then high quality display cases are ideally used. These cases are designed to allow you to show off your favorite collective piece at the same time prevent frequent handling.

Clean your collectibles carefully and meticulously. Items made in glass, ceramic and porcelain are usually washed in slightly warm water and a mild soap.

It is also advised to have your collection insured in case of fire, flood or theft. Have an up to date listing of your collection with original receipt photos and Certificate of Authenticity stored in a safe place.

Here are only some ways on how to protect your most prized football memorabilia. It is important that you provide each one with the proper storage to ensure that damage will not occur. Remember that these collectibles are valuable and can definitely be an investment for you in the future.
